The tentative details: leave Fri. afternoon-evening on a sleeper bus and get into Erlian on Sat. very early in the morning. Maybe grab a cheap hotel for a bit of sleep, then set out to cross the border. Once through, maybe get some Mongolian food and check out the border town a bit before heading back into China. Once back in China, amble around Erlian, check out their dinosaur museum and then catch another sleeper bus back to Beijing, arriving sometime on Sunday morning.
